On 21’st June last Saturday, a wild life blogging party was organized by Nuffnang in collaboration with Maxis.

150 bloggers, most of them are celebrity and entertainment category bloggers gathered in their “wild life” suit to do life blogging at the party.

Most of them turned up in “wild life” suits including spiderman with jeans and tarzan from the wild jungle… The rest are, hot looking babes…

Bill Gates is retiring, sort of. He is still only 52, and he is going off to spend more time guiding the world’s richest philanthropy, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He will still be Microsoft’s chairman and largest shareholder, but Friday is his last day as a full-time worker at the software giant, marking the unofficial end of his career as a business leader. Move over .com and .org. Get ready for a nearly infinite variety of new Web addresses ending in words like .perfume, .sports and .paris.

On Thursday the Internet’s main oversight agency approved the most sweeping changes to the network’s address system since its creation.

According to new rules unanimously passed by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or Icann, at its meeting here, any company, organization or country will soon be able to apply for a new Web address extension, called a top-level domain.

That could smooth the way for Web addresses that end in city names, brands and generic words. It could also sow confusion in the minds of Web users, create a host of new ways to exploit the Web addressing system and trigger a wave of legal skirmishes over applications to register trademarks — .coke, for example. Although a large Internet service provider has backed away from technology that tracks subscribers’ Web use in order to deliver personalized advertising, two other broadband companies said Wednesday they are still considering whether to deploy it.

Phone companies Embarq Corp. and CenturyTel Inc. have both completed trials of the same tracking system, from online advertising company NebuAd Inc., and are now considering whether to proceed. Read the rest of this entry »
