Kaspersky is the first Anti Virus company in the world to launch a 2009 version.

The Anti Virus company is the largest in Europe and ranked top 5 in the world.

2 products, Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 is now available in all over Malaysia including Low Yat, Digital Mall, Queenbay Mall Penang, Ipoh Parade and more.

Whats’s new?

Virtual Keyborad- The virtual keyboard prevent key logging programs from stealing your username and passwords. Kaspersky claims it is much more secure than Vista’s virtual keyboard.

2 way Personal Firewall- Supports VPN connection and secures your WiFi connection from theft.

HIPS- Offers Automated decision for beginners and block malicious programs.

Parental Control- Allow parents to restrict their children with a certain limitation while using the PC

Hijacking and Botnets- A better and smarter firewall. Able to protect against hijacking.

Thanks to Kaspersky, I am now using the Kasprsky Internet Security 2009 on my old notebook. Although it consumes very less RAM, about 300MB, it makes my system unstable. This is probably due to my unstable Windows XP which I need to repair. Overall, I believe it should work fine on a stable Windows Operating System including Vista that requires minimum 512MB to run Kaspersky Internet Security 2009.

The best part is, th firewall is smart enough to allow a program to operate, especially when you have click to run the program. A message only pops up when a program/application is launched automatically.

I have used the earlier Kaspersky Anti Virus that caused me a lot of problems such as blue screen and system problems but the new Kaspersky 2009 is much more stable and user friendly. Not only that, this Anti Virus program is able of detecting of over 20 million virus signatures.

Regarding the Kaspersky Malaysia’s website being hacked around last week, Gun Suk Ling, Director of Channel for South East Asia, Kaspersky, told Malaysia Technology Blog that the Malaysian website was still in construction and was not in operation. She also claims that the website was under a third party hosting when it was attacked.

The Kapersky Anti-Virus 2009 cost RM69 for one user while the Internet Security 2009 cost RM99, for one user. 3 user license are also available.
