Wordpress 2.6 has been released.

Here’s some of the new user features:

• Version/revision saves a copy of a post every time you edit it, allows you to view (not edit) each of those copies (revisions), Shows forward (in time) diffs between any two revisions.
• Display captions of images alongside them in posts and pages.
• Add paging of Themes in Design panel
• Word Count displayed when writing and editing posts and pages

Version 2.5.1 of WordPress is now available. It includes a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements, and one very important security fix. Wordpress 2.3.3 has been announced last Tuesday that applies the following fixes:

• gettext fails to determine byteorder on 64bit systems with php5.2.1
• maybe_create_table call to config.php issue
• some registration emails fail in 2.3.1 b/c of “callout verification”

Wordpress has decided to skipped Wordpress version 2.4 and plan to announce Wordpress 2.5 in March 2008.
